Wilsontown Story Walk

Welcome to the Wilsontown Story Walk

A Community Project Managed by Forth Community Resource Centre

From August 2003, stories have been collected from local people about living, working and playing in Wilsontown Woodland to devise a Story Walk which would reflect the theme ‘Stewartship of the Environment’.

The Project is cross-generational and has involved meetings with local people, organizations, agencies and school groups as part of the research to develop a knowledge and history of Wilsontown Woodlands.

A series of community reminiscence events, a workshop to the develop the skills of  young storytellers  and several  sessions at Forth Primary School have taken place.

The first performance of the Wilsontown Story Walk took place in September 2003. Since this time a number of other stories have been recorded and added to the collection. A community arts project has also been completed.

Forth Community resource Centre and The Wilsotown Story Walk  Project gratefully acknowledges support from South Lanarkshire Council, Central Scotland Forest Trust, Levenseat Trust, SuperCounty and South Lanarkshire Rural Partnership Leader+
