The 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes took place on Sunday 23rd November in Carluke Welfare Hall. The meeting began looking back on the successes of the year before moving on to future matters. The election of the new committee also took place. Carluke Primrose continues to make history as they win the SAFBA Scottish Championship for the 12th consecutive year. Carluke Primrose celebrated their 70th Anniversary with a bang on Saturday 22nd September by holding a Dinner Dance at the Bentley Hotel in Motherwell.
A great night was enjoyed by all - which included dinner, a ceilidh and disco.

Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes ran a successful fundraising Prize Bingo Night in Carluke Masonic Hall on Tuesday 2nd September.
The flutes would like to offer their thanks to all those who came along for the chance to win to some great prizes! Thanks also to all those who helped out on the night and also to those from Carluke Masonic Hall, who all made the evening run smoothly.

Although it was a damp, dreich day and we had a small ensemble due to member's work commitments, we're sure everyone had a great day! This was the last outdoor event for the Summer season. Carluke Primrose gave a hand in kicking off Edinburgh's Festival season with a bang on Sunday 5th August, by taking part in the 2007 Scottish Sun Edinburgh Festivals' Cavalcade. Carluke Primrose played at Lanark Lanimers once again this year on Thursday 7th June. It's been on the go since about 1140, making it one of Scotland's oldest traditions.
