Nestled at the edge of the Borders and the foot of the Southern Upland hills lies the historic market town of Biggar. This beautiful town is steeped in history and tradition and is famous for its lively Hogmanay celebrations.
Music and the arts have played a large part in Biggar's heritage and the local Accordion and Fiddle club is proud to continue with this tradition.
How It Works
Club meetings are held in Biggar's Municipal Hall and commence at 7.00pm
with local musicians encouraged to take to the stage and perform any style
of music on any combination of instruments featuring Accordion and/or
Fiddle.
A "Special Guest" then performs two 30 minute sets during the evening with
the meeting finishing around 10.30pm.
The Style
The club, which is a member of the National Association of Accordion and
Fiddle Clubs, extends special encouragement (and free admission to Under
16s) to young people to attend.
Other non-players (Admission £4.00) are most welcome to come along and
listen.
